- Research a line for you personally; or
- Provide a pack for you to give as a gift.

What You Will Get
On completion of the research we will provide:
- A print-out of your ancestral tree;
- Copies of any birth or marriage certificates we obtain to authenticate the records;
- Copies of census images showing your ancestors families;
- A report summarising findings about your ancestors lives; and
For a further charge of £10 we will provide a CD of all our findings
Gift Voucher Redemption
To redeem a gift voucher please email us at enquiries at englishrootsfinder dot com with your voucher number and the surname of the gift provider (for authentication purposes), together with your completed initial information template. Please note that vouchers must be redeemed within 9 months of purchase.
Getting Started
To get started we require a simple initial information template to be completed that will help put us on the right track to exploring the family line. The more details that can be provided on the chosen line the better. When it has been completed, it can either be emailed to us at enquiries at englishrootsfinder dot com or sent to the address provided. If there are any difficulties or queries please email us at the same email address or phone one of the contact numbers provided.
Once we have the completed initial information template it will help us undertake a preliminary assessment free of charge.
- If the research is for a gift, and we don’t think we can successfully progress the research, we offer to either research another family line or provide a refund,
- If the research is for yourself, only if we think we can successfully progress the research will we take on the assignment. It is only at this stage that we will require the £69* payment.
We aim to complete the research within a six-week period.
Terms & Conditions for the £69 Package
1. The cost is based on the premise that the full names of the parents and grandparents for the line to be researched are known. If you do not, we will need to obtain extra birth and marriage certificates to establish these facts. We will pass on the GRO charges for up to a maximum of 2 certificates. Polease note we do not add any mark-up on this charge.
2. Payment is required in advance of work undertaken (after the initial assessment has been completed and we have agreed to take on the assignment).
3. We regret that we can only offer this package for families whose ancestors are based in England, Wales or Scotland.
4. In some cases e.g. where a name is common, it is not possible to identify with any certainty the correct person. As we pride ourselves that our research is sound, we would not wish to pursue a line which we are not confident is correct. If this occurs we will inform you and refund according to condition 6 below.
5. If during the course of our research we find that we encounter one of the conditions outlined in 3 or 4 above we will inform you and provide you with a refund on the following basis:
- Any birth or marriage certificates obtained will be passed on to you and the cost price will be deducted from your fee.
- We will not waste your money on fruitless research. If after a reasonable time period we are unable to establish the line with certainty, we will stop the search and you will not be charged for this.
For example, if we find that after a comprehensive search we cannot progress your assignment from the outset, and no certificates have been obtained, you will receive a full refund of £69. Alternatively, if we have made some progress on your assignment we will provide you with as much information as we can and charge pro-rata to the progress we have made. The difference will be refunded.
6. It should be noted that sometimes historical records have been destroyed, lost or are illegible and that even with the best of endeavours it is not possible to find information that is being sought.
